Embattled former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has reached an agreement with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NAC). According to multiple sources Jones reached an agreement just a week before his December 15th hearing in front of the commission for his USADA out of competition drug test failure. Jones tested positive for two estrogen blockers that his team claimed came from knock-off erectile dysfunction pills that Jones received from a teammate.
According to our sources the agreement is for a one year suspension retroactive to July 6th, 2017. The undefeated fighter was facing a two year ban that would have seen the 29 year old with only one fight, an uncharacteristically bland showing against Ovince St. Preux, in the last three years. Many wondered in the NAC would give Jones a more harsh punishment based on his history of transgressions. However, Jones is now set on a perfect time table to return in time to fight the winner of Daniel Cormier and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson for the Light-Heavyweight crown.
